Dear Berries,
When I started Want Me, I thought I was solving a problem: creating the slogan babytees that I wish existed. Fast forward ~1.5 years, I realized—or should I say remembered—this brand is about so much more than clothes.
Let’s jump back to this time last year: July 2025.
We only had one top.
1 slogan, 2 colors: the Perfect Baby Cami, Mentally Stable, Lila & Skye.
Now, we have a catalogue: 12 slogans, 3 styles. Perfect Baby Cami, Perfect Baby Crop, Perfect Baby Tee, with a brand new style finalized & on the way right now.
I remember how frustrated I felt to only have 1 top, as I always visualized Want Me to exist as a slogan babytee destination, so I pushed myself to release a new drop every month over the past year. We did it, right on schedule, overcoming a lot of painful obstacles, and I’m happy with what's done.
Despite accomplishing exactly what I planned, I’ve been feeling rather uninspired for a while now. Feeling like something major is missing, like a limb or a bone is missing. I’ve been away for a couple weeks, pausing to detangle the ambivalence, and in the silence, the answer revealed itself.
Yes, I wanted to create the slogan babytees that I wish existed. But for WHO? A lot of slogan babytees do already exist. But not for girls like me.
I wanted to create a one-stop slogan babytee heaven, overflowing with slogans that I’d actually wear, cut & styled in a colorway / fabric / silhouette crop that felt fun, effortless, playful. A mirrored contradiction. Cute + cool. Pure + provocative. Expressive + detached. Carefree + intellectual.
Bubblegum chrome, cutout bikinis, sunbleached denim, cherry-coke cigarettes. Attitude, weirdness, allure. Most crucially, every piece needed to be an extension of the brand name—(i) Want Me; the art of wanting yourself.
I forgot who I was making these babytees for: The Berries.
Who is a Berry? Who is her favorite artist? What does she read, watch, listen to? Dream vacation, personal hell? Favorite ways to spend her limited time on earth. Who was her childhood idol? Current shopping cart wishlist. Obsessions, confessions, desires, disdains?
In the earliest days of building Want Me, I focused heavily on painting this world—and it was so much FUN! If you scroll back through the early days of @shopwantme, you’ll see memes (yes I make most of the memes myself!!), archive runways, 2000s paparazzi shots, cartoons + anime, indie films, vintage bags + heels, etc. Girls would DM the account saying “I’ve never found a brand that feels more like ME” and I knew I couldn’t stop creating whatever this was.
In the past year, I’ve been so consumed by the operations and logistics that the Want Me spirit suffered severely. The content became way too product-focused.
The babytee is the physical expression of the world—and I’ve been meaning to show you inside for a long time.
Consider this your official welcome to Want Me World, a digital platform for all things Berry! Travel. Music. Movies. Fashion. Diaries. Moodboards. Editorial. Wishlists. And every other juicy detail worth wanting.
And of course, the babytees aren’t going anywhere.
A return to ourselves starts right now❤︎
